Annual Wellness
Your annual visit should leave you feeling informed and empowered.
Preventive care only works if there's enough time to do it right.
Most annual exams follow the same script: a few minutes, a Pap smear, an "everything looks fine," and out the door. At Good Energy, your annual wellness visit is an hour of unhurried, whole-person care with time to actually talk about what's going on, what's changed, and what you want to address.
The standard annual exam was designed around efficiency, not thoroughness. Ten to fifteen minutes is enough time to complete a checklist. It is not enough time to review your full history, discuss symptoms you've been putting off mentioning, look at labs that go beyond the basics, or build a care plan that reflects where you actually are in your health.
At Good Energy, your annual visit is the foundation of our relationship. We come prepared, we ask the questions that matter, and we make sure you leave with a clear picture of your health, and a plan for what comes next.

Your questions, answered
How is a Good Energy annual visit different from a standard GYN exam?
The most significant difference is time. Our annual visits are a full hour, long enough to review your history, discuss concerns you may have been putting off, and look at your health holistically rather than symptom by symptom. We also go deeper on labs and screenings than most standard panels, and we don't charge extra when additional concerns come up during your visit.
Do I need a Pap smear every year?
Not necessarily. Current guidelines recommend Pap smears every 3 years for most women ages 21–65, or every 5 years when combined with HPV co-testing. Your screening schedule depends on your age, history, and previous results. We'll review what's appropriate for you and make sure you're up to date.
What labs are part of an annual visit?
It depends on your age, history, and goals, but we look beyond the standard panel. A thorough annual lab review might include heart health markers, metabolic markers, expanded thyroid function testing, iron and vitamin levels, and other markers relevant to your health picture. We explain every result and what it means for you specifically. Labs can be billed to your insurance, or paid out of pocket at a discounted rate. The annual lab panel is included at no additional charge for members.
Can I bring up other concerns at my annual visit?
Yes, and you won't be charged extra for it. One of the frustrations of standard care is being told a concern needs a separate appointment, or seeing surprise charges on your bill six weeks later for something that was supposed to be covered at 100%. At Good Energy, your annual visit is your time. If something comes up, we address it.
Do you order referrals for mammograms, colonoscopies, and bone density scans?
Yes. We coordinate age-appropriate preventive screenings and referrals as part of your annual care, and we follow up to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Imaging can be done through insurance or paid out of pocket at discounted rates with our partner imaging center.
I haven't had a GYN exam in a few years. Is that okay?
It's more common than you might think, and there's no judgment here. Whether it's been two years or ten, we'll meet you where you are, review what you may have missed, and get you back on track with a plan that makes sense for your current health.
